Creativity: How can I take this major negative aspect and look at it from another angle to find a way to turn it into a positive aspect?
I was part of a real estate development team a few years back. There was a huge concrete bridge over the river at one end of the development. Due to the noise from passing cars and the size of the structure, it was considered a negative. Property buyers didn’t like it.
Instead of finding ways to take the attention off of it, we decided to see it as a feature and started working on ideas to make it exactly that. Solution: We built a restaurant right next to the bridge and turned that part of the development into a day visitor experience.
This brought life and energy to the development and became a talking point, and the bridge a photo backdrop. The restaurant became very popular and wedding venue, hotel, spa and more facilities were added. So now apart from properties, there was a hospitality business as well.
People began to buy properties and loved the idea of being able to walk down to a popular restaurant part of the estate they owned property in. Here’s the place 10 years later: http://pontdeval.com
