Humans are creative by nature. Always making new things, building, designing, solving, improving.
No other species on earth is like that.
We’re not made to just be a cog in a cold corporate system that runs only on protocol.
I am not saying it’s wrong to work for a company. But if you find zero job satisfaction, ask yourself, “Am I required to be creative in my work?”
By creative I mean using your thinking or skills to contribute to new developments or improvements to the business beyond your own work processes.
If not, it’s quite likely your job satisfaction is low and you can’t wait to get off work. People who have understimulating jobs often get caught in a vicious circle and waste much of their salary on entertainment (again, not creating just consuming) after work, which makes them feel even more meaningless in the long run.
It doesn’t have to be like that. Think of how you can work yourself into a role where a noticeable % of it requires creativity.
You’ll grow (slightly painful at times of course) and enjoy your work more.
